North Queensland Family Dental is an established practice with a professional, friendly and family orientated team that provides a full range of general, restorative and cosmetic dental services with an emphasis on orthodontics.

The dedicated team at the practice is constantly up to date with latest treatments, offers a thorough and personalised approach to patient care, with a simple philosophy based on trust, respect and empathy.

We are currently looking for a professional and passionate Dental Assistant to join the team on a permanent full-time basis, to assist in the delivery of the exceptional patient customer care. You will have access to work in a modern well-equipped practice fitted with the latest technology (Digital scanners, 3D printer, Cerec machines & more).

The heart of the role:

  • General chairside assistance 
  • Prepare patients & facilities for dental treatment
  • Clean and prepare treatment rooms in accordance with infection control and practice protocols
  • Process contaminated instruments and equipment in accordance with practice protocols
  • Patient care; greeting and welcoming patients, chairside assistance and excellent customer service
  • Maintain and monitor an appropriate level of supplies in the treatment rooms, taking photos, scans and impressions
  • Perform standard level of laboratory tasks; pouring and trimming of models and fabrication of retainers

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in dental assisting essential 
  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting advantageous 
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal & customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be versatile to move between surgery, sterilisation to reception
  • A proven track record of punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to build rapport with patients, in a cheerful, light-hearted manner
  • A great attitude towards teamwork
  • Available to work full-time
